What is the XYZ formula?

The XYZ formula comes from Google’s own hiring guidance. Instead of describing what you were responsible for, you state what you achieved, the measurable result, and how you did it. “Responsible for social media” becomes “Grew social following by 48% in six months by shifting to short-form video”.

It works because it forces evidence. A recruiter scanning six seconds per CV sees a number and a method rather than a job description they have already read a hundred times.

Why won’t it make up a number for me?

Because inventing a metric on a CV is lying to an employer, and it falls apart in the interview. If your bullet has no measurable result, this tool leaves a bracketed placeholder for you to fill in from your own records. That is the same principle behind the rest of CraftAI CV: we refine your real experience, never fabricate it.
